Well, kiddies, here we go on the free energy warpath again. From cold fusion, to the Grigg’s hydrosonic pump (Google that one for a walk on the wild side), to Perepiteia, we all want to violate the fundamental laws of physics. Right? So, do you think we know all of the laws?  What exactly is a magnetic field? Why is it there virtually forever? Why is a permanent magnet ah.. permanent? Why is it, that so much of the free energy stuff deals with magnetism? Because magnetism is weird!

Here is a guy that stumbles onto some weird anomaly. Is it free energy, perpetual motion, a hoax, or has he really found something different?

A motor with a set of magnets on a rotor that somehow spins in spite of the back EMF that should be there, somehow conducting that EMF back into the drive motor, intensifying its field! MIT is confused, Georgia Tech is confused (about the Griggs hydrosonic pump), and I am confused.

The ’so what’ is that at the first level, a novel energy source, if this is the real McCoy, would be a world saver, economy destroyer, and I mean a world economy destroyer. The disruption of the markets would be astounding. The effect on global warming would be, eventually astounding. The effect on our lives would be astounding.

On a second, deeper level (remind me to do a blog on the nomological net concept) it tells me that we really don’t know everything; the true understanding of the fundamentals, like magnetism, is still far beyond our grasp. “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy” or physics…
